Our quality instruction in both English & Western riding will give your child more than just an experience riding a horse.
By tailoring instruction to both your chosen riding discipline and your child’s level, our goal is to help them advance most effectively while riding with us. This will give your child a head start if they chose to continue in a regular riding program.
Still just exploring riding and want to see how interested your child is in the sport? Not a problem! We have camps that are both English & Western 2 Day Camps and 5 Day Camps which are either all-Western or all-English and are a great way to get started!

- See registration information below for complete details.
ENGLISH or WESTERN RIDING – What is the difference and how to choose!
- English Riding is typically known for the saddles with no horns, jumping, dressage, and what some commonly refer to as “equestrian” riding.
- Western Riding is often known for barrel racing, trail or casual riding, and the “cowboy” sports, such as cutting and reining.
Our Recommendation –
- Do some research yourself and with your child. There is a great deal of information on Google and YouTube.
- Type in the question: What is the difference between English and Western Riding.
- Your child can always switch during their career as a rider! Riding helmets are the same for English and Western. Your biggest initial investment may be the footwear. So if your child decides down the road to change disciplines, you aren’t out too much in expense!
- Still not sure? Here are some thoughts:
- Have your child take one of the introductory 2 day camps where both styles or riding are introduced.
- Schedule a special introductory lesson with one of our instructors before signing up.
- Call us! We are happy to help!
